New Delhi, June 21 -- A heat spell continued in Delhi, as temperatures breached the 40-degree Celsius mark today.

At 41.1 deg C, Ridge weather station recorded the hottest daytime temperature, causing discomfort to residents. Several other stations in the city witnessed the maximum temperature in the same range, hovering near the 40 deg mark, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD)The maximum temperature at Safdarjung, Delhi's base observatory, settled at 40.2 deg C, witnessing a slight surge from the previous day. While the minimum temperature for Delhi stood at 28.7 deg C, indicating warmer nighttime temperatures.
