Hyderabad, April 18 -- Sunrisers Hyderabad have brought in Gerald Coetzee as a replacement for injured David Payne for the remainder of the Indian Premier League 2026, strengthening their pace attack midway through the campaign.

Coetzee, the South Africa fast-bowling all-rounder, joins the franchise for Rs 2 crore. He replaces Payne, who was ruled out with an ankle injury after featuring in just two matches, conceding 70 runs across five overs. Payne himself had been drafted in earlier as a replacement for Jack Edwards, who withdrew before the start of the season due to a foot injury.
