Belfast, June 26 -- An injury-ridden Ireland stunned world champions India by 34 runs in the opening T20 International here on Friday, overcoming a blistering half-century from Abhishek Sharma to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series after captain Lorcan Tucker led from the front with a composed fifty and the bowlers engineered a dramatic batting collapse.
Chasing 183, India were bowled out for 148 in 18.5 overs despite Abhishek's sensational start. The left-hander tore into the Irish attack, racing to a 20-ball half-century with seven fours and two sixes to give the visitors early momentum after Sanju Samson had fallen for five.
