New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- India have suffered a major setback ahead of the ACC Women's Asia Cup and Asian Games, with star batter Jemimah Rodrigues ruled out of both events after suffering a high-grade tear in her right hamstring.

Jemimah, 25, sustained the injury on August 3 while playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred in England. The injury forced her to miss the remainder of the tournament, and further assessment has now confirmed the extent of the damage.

"Jemimah Rodrigues sustained a right hamstring injury on 3rd August while playing in The Hundred in England. The BCCI medical team clinically assessed her at the Centre ofExcellence in Bengaluru, and the assessment confirmed a high-grade tear," a BCCIstatement read.
