Vancouver, May 2 -- FIFA President Gianni Infantino reaffirmed that Iran will participatein the 2026 FIFA World Cup and play its matches in the United States as originally scheduled.
Infantino made the remarks during the 76th FIFA Congress at the Vancouver Convention Center, where football officials from around the world gathered to discuss tournament arrangements, rule changes and preparations for the upcoming event.
Addressing rumors over Iran's participation amid recent regional tensions, Infantino said, "Let me start confirming straightaway that of course Iran will be participating at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
