New Delhi, Feb. 11 -- Seeking to pre-empt any "future unwarranted complication" over the repeal of three legacy labour laws subsumed under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the government on Wednesday introduced the Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha.

Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya moved the amendment bill during Zero Hour, through a supplementary agenda shortly after Question Hour, underscoring the Centre's intent to remove any scope for legal ambiguity regarding the continuity and repeal of the earlier enactments.
