Bhawani NegiShimla, Aug. 5 -- Cross-border Indo-China trade through the Shipki La route in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district has come to a halt just days after resuming, with registered traders announcing a boycott over the levy of Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) on imported goods.

The Kinnaur Indo-China Trade Association took the decision at an emergency meeting after receiving a communication from the Customs Department regarding the applicability of IGST on imports through the traditional border trade route.

The development comes barely four days after the trade resumed on August 1, ending a suspension of nearly six years.
