Kolkata, March 31 -- Low-cost carrier IndiGo has appointed Willie Walsh as its new Chief Executive Officer, the company said on Tuesday, marking a high-profile leadership change as the carrier accelerates its global ambitions.

The appointment of Walsh, currently Director General of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), is subject to regulatory approvals. His tenure at IATA will conclude on July 31, 2026, and he is expected to join IndiGo no later than August 3, 2026.
