New Delhi, June 15 -- In a significant move to strengthen railway safety and modernize train operations, Indian Railways has approved a Rs 201-crore project for the installation of the indigenous Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system across the remaining Broad Gauge sections of the Ambala Division of Northern Railway.
The project, covering 811 route kilometres, has been sanctioned under the umbrella programme for the provision of Kavach with an LTE-based communication backbone on the balance routes of Indian Railways.
