Kochi, June 27 -- The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Saturday successfully carried out a medical evacuation of two critically ill elderly patients from Lakshadweep, underscoring its swift response capability and commitment to saving lives during emergencies.

The evacuation was launched after the union Territory of Lakshadweep Administration alerted the Coast Guard about the patients' critical condition. Responding immediately, the ICG deployed a Dornier aircraft from Kochi equipped with advanced medical equipment, enabling continuous monitoring and in-flight medical care.
