Bhubaneswar, July 6 -- In a coordinated rescue operation, the Indian Coast Guard and the Odisha Marine Police rescued 20 fishermen and safely escorted them to Paradip Harbour after a fishing vessel developed engine trouble off the Puri coast.
Official sources said the Andhra Pradesh-registered fishing vessel IND-AP-V5-MM-872, carrying 10 crew members, suffered an engine failure in the sea off the Puri coast.
The stranded fishermen were rescued by another Andhra Pradesh fishing vessel, IFB Simhadri Apna (IND-AP-V5-MM-378). With all 20 fishermen safely on board, the vessel was escorted to Paradip Harbour by the Indian Coast Guard Ship ICGS C-426.
