Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 25 -- India's women's hockey team passed a significant test at the Asian Games with a composed 3-1 victory over hosts Japan to storm into the semifinals and preserve their unbeaten record in Pool B here on Friday.
Lalremsiami Hmarzote, Ishika Chaudhary and Navneet Kaur scored for India as the team combined attacking intent with disciplined defending to register their fourth consecutive victory.
India made a quick start, with Lalremsiami breaking the deadlock in the fifth minute with a field goal. The Indians continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage just before half-time when Ishika found the net from a rebound after Navneet's initial effort was saved.
