Mumbai, March 3 -- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced that the Indian Women's Cricket Team has been shortlisted for the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards under the World Team of the Year category.

First instituted in 2000, the annual awards honour the greatest and most inspirational sporting achievements from across the globe. The nomination follows a landmark year for Indian cricket, highlighted by the team's historic maiden triumph at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in 2025.
