Chennai, April 1 -- India is set to procure semi-cryogenic rocket engines to enhance the performance of its heavy-lift launch vehicle LVM3, marking a significant step in strengthening its space capabilities. The move has been confirmed in a report by a parliamentary committee.

The department-related parliamentary standing committee on science and technology, environment, forests and climate change made this announcement in its report on the demands for grants for the Department of Space for 2026-27.
