Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 24 -- India produced a dramatic late surge to win silver in the mixed 4x400m relay at the Asian Games here on Thursday, with anchor runner Vithya Ramaraj delivering a superb finishing burst to secure the podium place.
The Indian quartet of Manu TS, Poovamma MR, Vishal TK and Vithya Ramaraj clocked 3:14.46 to finish second in a closely fought final.
Bahrain took the gold in an Asian Games record time of 3:12.87, while South Korea claimed bronze in 3:14.54.
India's medal appeared under threat midway through the race, but Vishal TK produced an important leg to keep the team firmly in contention.
