New Delhi, June 14 -- India's space economy could expand nearly five-fold over the next decade, growing from the current USD 8-9 billion to about USD 40-45 billion, Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh said on Sunday, attributing the projected growth to policy reforms, increased private sector participation and a growing startup ecosystem.
Speaking at a press conference during the RISE Conclave 2026, themed "Innovation & Entrepreneurship Driven Growth for Viksit Bharat 2047", Singh said the country's space sector had undergone significant changes in recent years, with private companies and startups playing an increasingly important role.
