New Delhi, July 21 -- India's real estate investment activity gathered strong momentum in the April-June quarter of 2026, with institutional investors significantly increasing exposure to commercial properties while scaling back investments in residential projects, according to a Grant Thornton Bharat report.
The report, Real Estate/REITs Dealtracker, showed that the sector recorded 39 transactions worth USD 2.3 billion during the quarter, the highest deal volume in more than a year. The number of deals rose 18 per cent compared with the January-March quarter, while transaction value nearly tripled from USD 763 million, supported by large private equity investments, REIT acquisitions and renewed activity in capital markets.
