New Delhi, March 25 -- Harish Rana, 31, who became India's first citizen to be granted passive euthanasia, was laid to rest on Wednesday morning at the Green Park Cremation Ground, his final journey marked with full religious rites and a silence heavy with grief.
After spending more than 13 years in a coma, Harish breathed his last on Tuesday at AIIMS Delhi. His family had shifted him to the palliative care unit of the Dr BR Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital on March 14, hoping to give him as much comfort as possible in his final days.
Before that, their home in Ghaziabad had been his world, one filled with quiet care, constant vigil, and unspoken sorrow.
