Bengaluru, June 24 -- India on Wednesday called for the creation of a "BRICS Space Economy", urging member nations to strengthen collaboration in space technology, innovation and investment as the sector emerges as a key driver of economic growth.

Addressing the valedictory session of the BRICS Heads of Space Agencies (HOSA) Meeting in Bengaluru, Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh said the future of the global space economy would depend on partnerships rather than countries working in isolation.
