Shillong, Feb. 27 -- India-Japan ties are anchored in mutual respect, democratic values and a shared vision for economic cooperation and sustainable development, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said today.

Addressing the Sixth India Japan Intellectual Conclave here, Sangma said Japan has been a steadfast development partner for Meghalaya with the collaboration being not just about infrastructure but also about people.

The two-day conclave was attended by Ambassador of Japan to India, Ono Keiichi, Secretary and OSD (Establishment), Ministry of External Affairs & Acting DDG, ICWA, N J Gangte, Chief Representative, JICA India, Takuro Takeuchi among others.
