New Delhi/Moscow, Aug. 27 -- India and Russia held discussions on snow leopard conservation at the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, according to officials from the Environment Ministry.
The round meeting took place on Wednesday and was organised in partnership between the two nations under the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA).
Sharing advances with the Russian counterpart, the Indian delegation elaborated on newer methods adopted, including radio telemetry and genetic analysis to estimate the snow leopard population. According to experts from the Wildlife Institute of India (WII), the scientific tools India has adopted have amplified the conservation efforts for Himalayan big cats.
