Mumbai, Feb. 18 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday jointly inaugurated, through a virtual ceremony, the final assembly line for Airbus H125 helicopters at Vemagal in Karnataka. The launch marks a significant milestone in defence and aerospace cooperation between India and France.
Addressing the event, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the H125 helicopter project, stating that India and France would manufacture in India a helicopter capable of flying to the heights of Mount Everest. He noted that the aircraft would be particularly suitable for operations in the Himalayan region and icy border areas, where high-altitude performance is crucial.
