Panchkula, Aug. 2 -- India has expanded its e-Medical Visa facility to citizens of 176 countries and extended its validity from 60 days to one year, as the government steps up efforts to position the country as a global hub for medical tourism.
The move comes amid a steady rise in international patients seeking treatment in India. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 1.81 million foreign nationals travelled to India for medical care between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025.
Of the total 1,811,950 medical travellers, 1,751,088 arrived on Medical Visas, 56,908 on Medical Attendant Visas, 3,375 on AYUSH Visas and 579 on AYUSH Attendant Visas, reflecting growing global demand for both advanced medical treatm...
