New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that India and the European union have entered a new phase of partnership, with the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) concluded today set to unlock massive export opportunities, deepen economic engagement and strengthen cooperation across multiple strategic sectors.

Addressing the joint press conference here, Goyal said the India-EU FTA is one of the most comprehensive trade agreements India has ever negotiated. The deal will cover nearly 99 per cent of Indian exports to the EU and 97 per cent of EU exports to India, providing unprecedented market access to businesses on both sides.
