New Delhi, May 22 -- The conclusion of India-EU free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations is a significant milestone in India's economic diplomacy, Darpan Jain, Additional Secretary of the Department of Commerce and Industry, said on Friday.
This agreement will provide preferential tariff treatment to 99.5 per cent of Indian exports, boost its integration into European value chains, and facilitate greater market access across goods and services sectors. It will reduce non-tariff trade barriers.
He was addressing a Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) conference on "Next-Gen Trade Pacts: Leveraging India's Partnership with Europe under FTAs" here.
