New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- India on Friday called for stronger international cooperation in science, technology and innovation to ensure that emerging technologies remain "accessible, affordable, trusted and sustainable", as the 14th BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Ministerial Meeting began in Chennai.
In his inaugural address, union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr Jitendra Singh, outlined India's expanding global engagement in science and technology under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said BRICS countries were well positioned to build a "cooperative, responsible and future-oriented innovation ecosystem".
