Kolkata, June 3 -- Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, along with the party's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, will travel to New Delhi to attend the meeting of the opposition INDIA bloc scheduled for June 8.
The meeting assumes significance as it comes in the aftermath of the Trinamool Congress' electoral setback in West Bengal and at a time when the party is facing growing internal challenges.
Mamata has repeatedly asserted since the declaration of the election results that the opposition would regroup and begin a fresh political battle with an eye on the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, with the INDIA alliance serving as the platform for that effort.
