Gandhinagar, Jan. 12 -- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Monday said that India and Germany have agreed to deepen defence cooperation, as it has "strategic significance" in view of the rapidly changing world order, where power politics are at play.

Emphasising the strategic importance of India-Germany relations, he said the two countries aim to elevate their partnership to a higher level.

Merz said, "The world order is changing as we meet here. It is marked by great power politics and thinking in spheres of influence. We have to brace ourselves against the rough winds.
