Lucknow, Aug. 15 -- Lucknow, Aug 15 (UNI): Uttar Pradesh marked the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour on Saturday, as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the Tricolour at the Vidhan Bhavan and highlighted the state's development achievements while calling for national unity and vigilance against forces seeking to weaken the country.
The national song, "Vande Mataram", was sung for the first time at the ceremony, followed by the national anthem. A helicopter also showered flower petals over the Vidhan Bhavan campus.
