Lucknow, Feb. 25 -- The Income Tax department conducted a raid early Wednesday morning at the residence of Umashankar Singh, the lone MLA of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the current Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
A team of more than 30 Income Tax officials, accompanied by heavy police deployment, arrived at Singh's residence around 7 am. The officers immediately secured the premises and restricted movement in and out of the house before beginning a detailed inspection of documents and records.
