Chennai, June 4 -- In its first major initiative towards industrial developnent, the Tamil Nadu government headed by Chief Minister Vijay on Thursday signed MoUs with leading firm Larsen and Toubro for launching three projects involving an investment of Rs 18,600 crore in an attempt to reach its ambitious target of achieving USD 1.5 trillion economy by 2036.
The MoU was signed and exchanged by the government and the company officials in the presence of Vijay, Industries Minister Ms Keerthana, L and T MD S N Subramanian and others at the State Secretariat here.
The three projects would generate jobs for 8,200 people, an official release said.
