Bhubaneswar, Aug. 20 -- IMS and SUM Hospital-2 at Phulnakhara has launched Modified Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services, successfully administering the hospital's first Modified ECT to a patient diagnosed with schizophrenia, hospital sources said on Thursday.
Dr Bhabani Shankar, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, expressed satisfaction over the introduction of the advanced treatment facility.
"Modified ECT remains one of the most effective and critical treatment modalities for acutely disturbed psychiatric patients. We are thrilled to successfully introduce this vital service at our campus," he said.
