Panchkula, Oct. 23 -- The India Meteorological Department today warned of thunderstorms, lightning and gusts reaching 60 kmph in parts of Haryana, including Gurugram and Faridabad, while forecasting rain and thunderstorms in Punjab as a fresh western disturbance approaches northwest India.
The Haryana nowcast, issued at 4:18 pm, forecast moderate thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds of 40-60 kmph over parts of southern and southeastern Haryana.
The areas listed included Gurugram, Sohna, Pataudi, Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Nuh, Taoru, Firozpur Jhirka, Punahana, Palwal, Hodal and Hathin. The warning also covered parts of Rewari, Bawal, Kosli, Jhajjar, Bahadurgarh, Matanhail, Beri Khas, Sampla and Kharkhoda.
