Shimla, Dec. 2 -- Himachal Pradesh is bracing for a shift from prolonged dry conditions to a fresh spell of rain and light snowfall later this week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) indicating the impact of an approaching Western Disturbance (WD) and cyclonic circulation beginning December 5.

According to the IMD's morning bulletin, the state continued to reel under dry weather over the past 24 hours, but synoptic conditions are changing rapidly.

A Western Disturbance, presently marked as an upper-air cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan, persists and will be followed by another feeble WD expected to influence the western Himalayan region from December 5.
