Kolkata, May 13 -- The West Bengal government has ordered the immediate closure of all unauthorised toll gates and illegal drop barriers that are allegedly used to collect toll illegally across the state, sources said on Wednesday.
An order issued by Chief Secretary Manoj Agarwal said any toll gate, drop gate, barricaded structure or other collection point set up for toll tax or fee collection without formal approval from the competent state authority must cease operations with immediate effect.
