Chennai, July 13 -- In a significant achievement, the IIT-Madras became the first Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI) in India to receive a global honour when its IIT-Madras Wellness Centre received the ISO 45001:2018 certification from TUV NORD Group.
IIT-Madras is the first CFTI institute to get this internationally-recognised certification for occupational health and safety management.
The certification reflects the Institute's commitment to creating a safe, supportive and healthy campus environment by promoting wellbeing, proactively identifying risks, preventing work-related hazards and continually improving wellness practices.
