Varanasi, April 6 -- Researchers from the Department of Biochemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Banaras Hindu University (BHU) have developed an innovative and environmentally friendly technology to remove toxic heavy metals like cadmium and lead from wastewater.

The research was conducted under the leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Vishal Mishra in collaboration with his PhD scholar Dr. Veer Singh. This technology is based on mushroom biomass-based absorption, offering a solution to a serious environmental and public health challenge.
