Nagpur, May 4 -- A tragic incident was reported early Monday morning at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Nagpur campus, where a second-year engineering student allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the top of a hostel building, police said.
According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. within the institute premises.
The student, Shreyash Chandrakant Mane (20), native Kolhapur, was enrolled in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) with a specialised track and was residing in the campus hostel at the time.
Police said the student allegedly jumped from the hostel building, sustaining fatal injuries.
