Bhubaneswar, Aug. 20 -- IFFCO's Paradip unit on Wednesday conducted a full-scale on-site emergency mock drill to assess its preparedness and strengthen coordinated response mechanisms for handling potential industrial emergencies.
The exercise was based on a simulated leakage of liquid ammonia from an eight-inch transfer pipeline connecting the ammonia storage area to the DAP plant.
The drill began with a briefing on the emergency scenario, response protocols and responsibilities of various departments and participating agencies.
Following the simulated leak, the IFFCO Fire & Safety Department promptly evacuated the affected area and initiated precautionary measures.
