Chaibasa, March 1 -- An Assistant Commandant of the CoBRA battalion was injured in an IED blast triggered by suspected Maoists in the Saranda forest area of West Singhbhum district on Saturday, official sources said.
The injured officer has been identified as Ajay Malik.
According to sources, CoBRA personnel were on a search operation in the Saranda forest when the explosion took place. The IED is believed to have been planted earlier by Maoists. Malik sustained injuries in the blast.
