Tel Aviv/Tehran, March 9 -- The Israeli military has warned that it will continue pursuing every successor of Iran's slain supreme leader, as Iran's clerical body, the Assembly of Experts, has announced that it has chosen Khamenei's successor, though has refused to make his name public.

In a post on X in Persian, the IDF warned it will also pursue every person who either seeks to appoint a successor for the recently killed Ali Khamenei, or is a candidate themselves, threatening to eliminate members of the clerical body.

"After neutralising the tyrant Khamenei, the terrorist regime of Iran is attempting to rebuild itself and select a new leader," the IDF wrote.
