New Delhi, July 21 -- The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has licensed three indigenous biomedical technologies to Indian pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturers, aiming to accelerate the development and commercialisation of new treatments for cervical cancer and enteric bacterial infections, announced officials from the Health Ministry on Tuesday.
The technology transfer, facilitated under ICMR's Medical Innovations Patent Mitra programme, includes licensing of SHetA2, an experimental therapeutic candidate for curing HPV-related cervical disease, to Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Two next-generation vaccine technologies targeting gut bacterial infections have been licensed to Biological E Ltd.
