Birmingham, June 14 -- India Women won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan Women in their Group A match of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 at Edgbaston here on Sunday.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said the pitch looked good for batting and her side was keen to post a competitive total on the board.
"We will bat first. It is a pretty good pitch to bat on, so we thought of putting a decent total on the board," Harmanpreet said after the toss. She added that India's triumph in the previous World Cup had boosted the team's confidence and that the players were eager to carry that momentum into the current tournament.
