Dhaka, Jan. 7 -- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rejected a request from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to relocate Bangladesh's matches from India during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
The BCB had expressed its reluctance to travel to India for the tournament, citing security concerns. Tensions between the cricket boards escalated after Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman was released by the Indian Premier League franchise ahead of the 2026 season.
Bangladeshi officials alleged that the decision was taken under pressure from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), following protests by certain groups over recent incidents involving the killing of Hindus in Bangladesh.
