Chennai, Feb. 16 -- The ICC on Monday approved replacements for injured players in theAustralia, Namibia and Scotland squads in the ongoing T20 cricket tournament being jointlyhosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC has approved former skipper Steve Smith as areplacement for Josh Hazlewood in the Australia squad.
Smith is named as a replacement for Hazlewood, who is now officially ruled out from thetournament due to a calf injury.
The team's medical staff had hoped to have him fit in time to feature in the latter parts ofthe tournament but were unsuccessful.
The Technical Committee also approved Alex Volschenk as a replacement for Ben Shikongoin the Namibia squad.
