Hyderabad, May 20 -- Southwest Airlines Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) Lauren Woods on Wednesday said the airline's newly inaugurated Global Innovation Centre (GIC) in Hyderabad would serve as a key hub within its global network to strengthen business and technology capabilities and support future-ready aviation solutions.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Southwest Airlines Global Innovation Centre at Knowledge City, Gachibowli, Lauren said the company aims to make the Hyderabad centre an extension of its US operations while investing heavily in local talent and technology infrastructure.
