Hyderabad, April 23 -- The Hyderabad City Police convened a high-level banking coordination meeting on Thursday as part of "Operation Octopus," a major initiative aimed at cracking down on organised cyber fraud networks.

Chaired by Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar, the meeting brought together 75 representatives from 45 public and private sector banks to address the growing misuse of bank accounts and strengthen fraud prevention measures.

Senior officials, including Additional CP (Crimes & SIT) M. Srinivasulu and RBI Regional Director Chinmoy Kumar, participated in the discussions, which focused on tightening systems to prevent the creation of "mule accounts" used in cybercrimes.
