Hyderabad, Nov. 7 -- Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar has come down heavily on cricketers Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan, expressing sharp disapproval of their alleged involvement in promoting betting-related platforms.
Taking to social media platform X on Friday, Sajjanar questioned how such public figures, who earn from their immense fan following, could act as responsible role models.
"Many young people are falling prey to the betting epidemic. Their lives are being destroyed. Thousands have committed suicide. Aren't those who promote this dangerous craze responsible for these tragedies?" he wrote.
