Hyderabad, Sept. 5 -- The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) announced that it has set up 72 artificial ponds across various parts of the city for Ganesh idol immersion, aiming to reduce the burden on natural water bodies.

"In addition to the artificial ponds, idol immersion will also take place at 20 major lakes today to help ease traffic congestion," the Corporation said in a release.

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan stated that all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure a safe, smooth and eco-friendly Ganesh idol immersion tomorrow.
