Hyderabad, July 19 -- The Hyderabad and Cyberabad Traffic Police booked a total of 823 motorists for drunk driving during special enforcement drives conducted over the weekend, reiterating their zero-tolerance policy against the offence.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police, in a release issued today, said 586 cases were registered during a two-day drive on July 17 and 18, including 439 two-wheeler riders, 45 three-wheeler drivers, 97 four-wheeler drivers and five drivers of other vehicles. Most offenders recorded Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels between 51 mg and 100 mg per 100 ml. Police said special drunk-driving checks would continue across the city in view of the extension of bar timings.
